MONUMENTAL!
Residents and visitors had the opportunity to learn more about some of the monuments and sites located in the heart of the Capital during “Monumental!” Free, one-hour guided walking tours were held on Sunday, April 18, 2010, to celebrate the International Day for Monuments and Sites.
The tour visited the sites of several monuments, including the following:
- Terry Fox statue (Capital Infocentre, Wellington Street);
- Women Are Persons! (Parliament Hill, between the Centre Block and East Block);
- The Valiants Memorial (Confederation Square, corner of Elgin and Wellington streets);
- The Response, National War Memorial, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (Confederation Square, corner of Elgin and Wellington streets);
- The National Aboriginal Veterans Monument (Confederation Park, Elgin Street).
